Movie Night in Canada

In the Kelly household, weekend nights are usually reserved for movies – either in the theatre or at home.  We stayed in this weekend and caught up with a movie that came out last year:  Country Strong.  The reviews at the time were pretty blah, although the average movie goer liked it more than the critics (what else is new?).  The script had some weaknesses but we enjoyed it, mostly by virtue of the great music and the talented cast, which included Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw.  And then there was Garrett Hedlund.

Check out those gorgeous eyes!  And, yes.  He has other gorgeous parts, plus a really nice sultry vibe going on.  Rowr!

But of course there were other reasons to enjoy this movie, including the great music.  Here’s a nice sample to start off your Monday.

How about you?  See any good movies this past weekend?

  1. I watched a few dumb Syfy movies yesterday and on Saturday night I saw You Again with Jamie Lee Curtis. Actually very funny. lol. Wanted to go see Conan but will have to wait til next Sunday morning for that!

  2. I watched True Lies on a television channel for the blind–not that I knew it at the time. I kept trying to turn the commentary off! But after that didn’t work, I found it fun to have someone narrating it as well as hearing the dialogue. The comments were funny and added to the general hilarity.

  3. Forgot to say, I will be watching Country Strong and I Saw You Again. Love to get new suggestions for movies to watch!

  4. A movie night sounds fun. We don’t have many of those but with Fall approaching it’s going to be back to hockey nights and The Amazing Race! I can’t wait to “visit” more places and cheer on the home team. Speaking of movies our family does have some classics that we like to watch together, which include The Sound of Music and Home Alone.

    Wishing you a great day.
