Sarah MacLean & Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart

I love Sarah Maclean, and even a quick visit to her website will tell you why.  First of all, there are her taglines:

I write books.  There’s smooching in them.

Best. Taglines. Ever.

But wait!  She has a Regecy-specific tagline, too:

Fetch the smelling salts.

And you’d best have your maid fetch those smelling salts because you just might swoon from reading her books – she’s that good.  Sarah is smart, funny, and her writing is impossibly accomplished.  Her first book, a Regency YA, debuted to enthusiastic reviews and her first adult romance, Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake, landed on the New York Times bestseller list, the USA Today bestseller list, and won the Romantic Times “Historical Romance of the Year” award.  Yowzers!

Sarah has a new book out this week.  It’s Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke’s Heart, which is book 3 in the Love By Numbers series.  It’s already gotten phenomenal reviews, including a starred review from Booklist, a top pick from Romantic Times, and a coveted “A” rating from Dear Author.

Sarah’s books are witty, romantic, poignant, and utterly charming.  If you haven’t yet read her, you simply must!

There were some other fantastic books released this week, including Kris Kennedy’s Defiant, Mia Marlowe’s Touch of a Thief, and Anna Campbell’s Midnight’s Wild Passion.  In fact, Anna will be here on my blog this Friday to talk about her latest book and to give away a copy.  It’s always a good time when Anna is in the house, so be sure to stop back.

To celebrate the release of Sarah’s book and my own release of My Favorite Countess on May 3rd, I’m giving away a copy of Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke’s HeartJust tell me what books you’re looking forward to reading in the next few weeks.  One commentor will win a copy of this wonderful book!

  2. I am always on the hunt for books I haven’t read. Juat to name a couple are The new Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich due out this summer and Gone with a handsomer man by Micheal Lee West. I just read a review on that one and it sounded like a fun read. And of course I have read the two previous books in Ms. Maclean’s series and am looking foreward to Eleven.

  6. I just started reading Devil in Disguise by Stefanie Sloane, a new author from whom I was lucky enough to get an ARC. I’m really enjoying it because of the interaction between the two main characters (don’t want to give anything away so I won’t say more).

Sarah, Mia and Anna’s books are already on my “list” to order from Amazon (they closed our local bookstore – thanks to my husband I’m now the proud owner of a Kindle).

My 5th book is Cloudy with a Chance the third book released by Kieran Kramer. Don’t you love all these authors titles? What’s even better is that their stories are even better!

Don’t worry I’m still deciding on what to get for books 6 – 10 so I’ll be checking all the ohter answers today to get some more great suggestions!

  10. “Eleven Scandals…” and “Cloudy…” for sure. And “My Favorite Countess” when it comes out next week. Actually, I have way too many books in my TBR pile but somehow I can’t help myself. *sigh* Not that I want such wonderful authors to stop writing such great books. 🙂

  11. First of all I’m waiting to read My Favorite Countess as soon as it gets here. I’d love to read Eleven Scandals. Katie Mac has Baltic 2 coming out in 5 days. amanda Quick’s Quicksilver just came out. And I’m already sooo far behind 🙁 How can people expect me tp work when there are so many books to be read?!?

      • You want us to post pics of our TBR piles?!? OMG..I would have to take a couple of pics. Mine’s not a pile..it’s a couple of shelves, plus about 25 on my Kindle. Soooo many good ones have come out recently, so I keep buying. But I’ve been so busy at work that I’m lucky 2 get in 2 books a week lately 🙁 My schedule changes in about 3 weeks, so I’m hoping to spend the summer catching up. I even get to read on vacation in June. I make hubby drive, and I have the lighted cover for my Kindle, so I can read the whole ride. And at my daughter’s house, my very-soon-to-be 13 yr old grandson and I are quite happy to just hang out in his room reading together while everyone else watches tv or plays video games.

  12. Nothing as devastating as not having a new book (or books) to look forward to; my TBR pile (pile is the correct word) is quite impressive 🙂

I’m looking forward to reading some new authors that I’ve not read books from before:
A Tale of Two Lovers by Maya Rodale
Follow My Lead by Kate Noble
As You Wish by Gabi Stevens
