Romancing The Hop Blog Hop!!

Welcome to Romancing The Hop!  Over 100 authors and bloggers have banded together to share our favorite things about Romance.  We’re chatting about all the things we love about it, including our favorite romance novels, and even tips about dating and romantic getaways!  But what’s in it for you, the reader?  Well, we’re each doing a giveaway. Yep. There will be over 100 giveaways on each blog hosted by that Author or Blogger.

But that’s not all….we have THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. Yep, you can enter over 100 times!

Now what are those prizes?

1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet

2nd Grand Prize: A $130 Amazon or B&N Gift Card

3rd Grand Prize: The following Swag Pack!

Wow!  Great prizes, eh?  All that, and a really fun discussion about the things we love about romance and romance novels.  So let’s get started.

What’s my favorite thing about romance novels?  It’s simple.  I love how much fun they are.  When I read a good romance I’m reminded of that intense, glorious rush of falling in love—of knowing deep within you that this particular person is the one for you.  No matter how angst-ridden the story, no matter how many obstacles the author places in the path of the hero and heroine, you can enjoy the journey and remember yourself how truly wonderful it is to find your soul mate.

As for my favorite romance…I think I’d have to go with Lord of Scoundrels, by Loretta Chase.  There’s a reason why this book tops so many best romances lists.  It’s got a brainy, funny heroine, a tortured, uber-alpha hero, the wittiest dialogue this side of the Mississippi, and so much genuine heart and emotion it bring tears to your eyes.  Lord Dain is the best hero I’ve ever come across, and I never grow tired of re-reading this book!

So, dear reader, if you could bring only ONE book with you to a deserted island, what would it be?  One person who comments on my blog will win a $10 Amazon gift card and a copy of my Regency-set historical romance, Sex And The Single EarlThis book, which won the prestigious Maggie Award for Best Historical Romance, is currently only available in digital format, so I’m giving away one of the few print copies I have left.  Trust me when I tell you that Sex And The Single Earl is very difficult to find in print!

Commenting on my blog enters you in the grand prize draw, so remember to include your email address in the comment.  And be sure to visit all the other blogs in the hop too.  Not only will you discover some great authors and bloggers, you’ll be eligible for all sorts of prizes, including the grand prizes.  So start by leaving your comment on my blog, and then click here and start hopping away!

  1. Thanks for a very generous giveaway! What a hard choice… I think that I would take my omnibus copy of all of Jane Austin’s novels. One book, but many stories 🙂

  6. The thought of only having one book nearly kills me, but if I could only pick one it would be “Redeeming Love” by Francine Rivers. That may seem like an odd choice to some, but it’s one that I could read over and over, and never get tired of it.

  7. I can’t imagine living with only one book to read! If I really had to choose, it would be Charles Dickens, Great Expectations. Best. Book. Ever.

  10. Great giveaway! Thanks!!! I consider my kindle a book but since I would have to have electricity to recharge it doesn’t seem feasible. So I would take the well-worn, huge selection of William Shakespeare; that way I would have a variety and enough to keep my mind working.

  11. Hmmm, I wonder if there is a small, solar powered battery available to charge up my Kindle? But, I guess that wouldn’t really be an option. This is a hard question, but I think I’d still have to opt for my favorite book of all times, Gone with the Wind. I never get tired of watching the film or reading the book! Thanks for this giveaway too.

PS…I have a print copy of Sex and the Single Earl. Didn’t know they were so hard to find. Maybe I’ll try to sneak it along with GWTW to that desert island! LOL

  15. I would bring Paradise by Judith McNaughrt It has everything I love about romance novels. I can literally read it over and over and not get sick of it.

  16. Pick one? Impossible for me. But – one that I constantly return to (and it’s not ‘romance’ per se ) is probably Game of Thrones by George RR Martin – it has everything.. romance, sex, murder, intrigue, dragons and wolves and magic, good and bad… the lot.

but really – I have about 4000 titles – some in many different forms – just because I love my books so much.

    thank you for participating..

my pick – if I HAD to take just one would be Game of Thrones.. it has everything I like in the books I read all joined into one. But I have too many (over 4000) titles in various formats – so a pick one is near impossible.

    thank you for participating —

But it would probably still be my Kindle, =) I don´t leave home without it.

  26. Historical romance is my favorite genre so my pick would be One Perfect Rose by Mary Jo Putney.
I was an avid reader when younger, but after getting married, having a family and working I didn’t really read much until my husband retired and I quit my job. One Perfect Rose was the first book I picked up after that and I’ve been indulging in an orgy of reading since.
Love your book too, Vanessa. I read and enjoyed it very much.

  40. Thanks for participating! Really like the hop so far!! I love reading, especially romance. I love reading contemporary, historical and erotic romance. I love the happy ending that is garenteed at the end. My favorite book is Lover Mine by JR Ward! I love John Matthew and Xhex. My favorite romantic moment was when my fiancé asked me to marry him! We meant two years ago right around when summer was ending! I think it is romantic when he brings me flowers because no one else has ever done it! My friend and I went out for our last big night out before classes started again. Thanks so much! Hope everyone else is having a great long weekend!!
