One of my favorite people in romancelandia is Beverley Kendall. Not only is she smart and talented, she’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. There’s another reason why I love her – she also writes sexy, Regency-set historical romances. Oh, and did I mention her books are sexy?
Bev’s first book, which kicked off her Elusive Lords series, was Sinful Surrender. RT Book Reviews gave it 4 stars: “In her fresh, charming debut, Kendall’s natural wit and fine voice shine through.”
And New York Times bestselling author Cathy Maxwell calls Bev’s writing “deliciously intense.” Yum!
Bev’s second book in the Elusive Lords series is A Taste of Desire. Take a look at her charming video, which gives you a sense of the fun that awaits you when you read this book.

Like many of us in the romance writing world, Bev has moved into the indie arena with her new novella, All’s Fair in Love & Seduction. For those of you who have been following Bev’s Elusive Lords, this novella tells Derek and Elizabeth’s story. I know for a fact that a lot of people have been waiting for this one, including me!
Here’s the blurb:
With her seduction she hopes to gain his affections
For Miss Elizabeth Smith, sharing her first kiss with the charming Lord Derek Creswell is nothing short of a dream come true…that is, until she is spotted by one of the most influential gossips of the ton. With scandal nipping at her heels, to avoid total social ruin, Elizabeth must present a fiancé by the end of the Season. But when the viscount proves reluctant, Elizabeth is forced to employ a seduction of a different sort…
With his seduction he is determined to ruin her
Viscount Derek Creswell believes Elizabeth set out to trap him into marriage. After all, her sister attempted the very same thing with his brother six years before. Now the delectable Miss Smith expects a betrothal and a ring, while Derek finds her ruination infinitely more appealing…
But as Derek sets out to seduce only her body, Elizabeth is intent on claiming his jaded heart.
Sounds delicious, doesn’t it? All’s Fair in Love & Seduction is available for just $1.49 on Amazon, and a host of other e-retailers. You can find all the handy buy links on Bev’s website, and read an excerpt. As an added bonus, you can take a look at the first three chapters of Bev’s next book in her Elusive Lords series, An Heir of Deception. That book, which is Alex and Charlotte’s story, will be available in the Fall of 2011. Can’t wait for this one!

And Bali sounds good to me. On the beach with a good book is almost the perfect vacation.
I love the Season Blog and have been a follower for a long time now. Congrats on their upcoming 2nd Anniversary! I have read the first two books in Bev’s series, Sinful Surrender and A Taste of Desire, and am really looking forward to reading Alex’s story.
I am having a stay-at-home vacation this year and am enjoying the air conditioning. Unfortunately with the price of gas and no salary increase, we can’t afford to go anywhere.
OMG! I so hear you on the price of gas! I think there are many staycations this year because of it.
Cathy, you are a faithful follower and I thank you for that. 🙂
Hehehehe, it seems everyone who writes me cannot wait for Alex’s story. I love him too. Dearly.
But boy do I hear you on the gas. My vacation was driving to NYC for the RWA conference. Next year, I want to go to England and France.
Congratulations on your two year anniversary. I’ve read your first two books and look forward to Alex’s story. I hope to read All’s Fair in Love & Seduction soon.
This year is a staycation. with this heat, it’s probably a good thing.
Yes, Kim. The heat is brutal. I don’t want to go outside!
Two years already – it has gone by quickly!! I enjoyed both of Bev’s books very much and can’t wait to read the newest one!
As to vacations, due to family matters it was canceled and I’m not sure it’s looking good for next year either (sigh). Thank goodness for books!
Thank goodness for books is right, catslady! They give us the opportunity to visit places we might never have the chance to go.
Thanks so much, catslady! The time does fly doesn’t it. I can’t believe it’s been that long already.
To me, books are the cheapest form of great entertainment–thank goodness. Viva le livre!
My vacation is over for now (first day in work tomorrow!!!) I spent two weeks in Rome this year, loved it. Thanks for this wonderful blog!
Lucky you, Tessa! Hope you had a great time!
I’m trying very hard not to clench my teeth in total envy. I know you must have had a great time.
The closest vacation I have this summer is going to Utah and Las Vegas, lol. Two very different locales, so it’ll be interesting!
Julie, that sounds great. I hope you have a great time at each.
I love Las Vegas, Julie!
Hi everyone!!! First, thank you so much for having me on, Vanessa. You’re an absolute doll. I quite adore you–oh, and your husband.
Bev, you know how much I love you! Randy does, too!
Hi Bev and Vanessa,
Congrats on on the second anniversary of The Season, Bev. I’m hoping to visit my niece towards the end of summer, maybe early September. At least the temps will be cooler and more comfortable.
Cooler weather sounds divine!
No vacation this year, oh well – it’s too stinking hot all across the country….But I ‘vacation’ when reading great books!! You both rock!! Thanks for all your wonderful books!! Keep it up!!
All these books look like charming reads. I like heroines who are spirited, a tad stubborn and witty. I can’t say I feel bad for the heroes (I don’t) but it looks like Derek doesn’t stand a chance from cupid’s arrow in “All’s Fair in Love and Seduction”.
This summer my family has no concrete plans which means anything goes. Anything from spontaneous short road trips to all-day picnics. Today in Canada, it’s a holiday which is a great time for me to spend some time at home relaxing away. All summer I’ve been spending a lot of time outdoors, visiting parks and lakes, picnic gear or barbecue grill in hand. It’s always fun but sometimes home is where I am most comfortable. It’s nice to isolate myself from the heat and the bustle of the city which is my plan for today…plus a good book on hand!
Na, I think I’m a lot like you. I love being at home. Don’t know if that makes me a stick in the mud, but it sure is comfortable!
