VANESSA'S NEWS
SEPTEMBER 2010
I love this time of year! The weather is starting to cool, the leaves are just starting to turn, and the kids look so cute going back to school with their new backpacks and wearing the latest cool clothing. Everything seems fresh and exciting, and there’s a sense that new opportunities are just over the horizon.
Speaking of exciting things, I have a new and very pretty cover to show you.

This is the cover for a Kensington Regency historical anthology headlined by the great Jo Beverley, to be released in February, 2011. I’m so thrilled to have a novella in this collection, called The Pleasure of a Younger Lover. Sexy, eh? Here’s the blurb:
Clarissa Middleton cannot resist the ardent kisses of Captain Christian Archer, though they must meet in secret or risk the censure of London society. In each other’s arms, desire and love melt two hearts into one...
Sigh. I love that description, which perfectly captures how romantic this story is. In addition to Jo Beverley’s wonderful novella, there are stories by Sally MacKenzie (author of the Naked series) and Kaitlin O’Riley. Stay tuned for more updates on my website.
I also have some exciting contest news to announce. Mastering The Marquess placed in two more contests. In the prestigious RomCon Readers' Crown, sponsored by Borders Books, MTM finaled in the best first book category. MTM also finaled in the Ancient City Romance Authors Heart of Excellence Award, in the historical category. I'm so thrilled at how well my first book has been doing, having now finaled in four contests!
I’m also happy to announce that my third Regency-set historical romance is now headed into production and will be released in May, 2011. It’s called My Favorite Countess. You might be interested to know that this book features return appearances by several characters from my first two books, Mastering The Marquess and Sex And The Single Earl. I’ll be posting more info, excerpts, and special extras for My Favorite Countess in the next few months.
All my books are still available in bookstores and on-line. Check out my home page and my books page for details and ordering information. And while you’re visiting my website, please have a look at the special features like my recipes page, Below Stairs, and check out the link to my other website, V.K. Sykes.
Have a great September, everyone! Happy Reading!
